SAMARTH Udyog Bharat 4.0

A pan-India initiative of the Ministry of Heavy Industries under the Enhancement of Competitiveness in Indian Capital Goods Sector scheme, designed to promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies — AI, IoT, robotics, and data analytics — among Indian MSMEs through awareness programmes, digital maturity assessments, training, and demonstration centres.

Context & Background

SAMARTH stands for Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub; key centres include IIT Delhi, IISc Bengaluru, CMTI Bengaluru, and CMERI Durgapur; the initiative has trained 500+ Digital Champions and conducted 100+ digital maturity assessments as of December 2024.
