BharatNotes (bharatnotes.com) is a free, open-access educational resource for UPSC Civil Services aspirants, created by Bharat Choudhary. We do not require user registration, login, or any personal information to access our content.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

BharatNotes does not collect any personal information directly. We have no sign-up forms, no login system, and no contact forms that store data on our servers.

Automatically Collected Information

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first and:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not track individual users across sites
  • Does not collect personal information
  • Collects only aggregate data: page views, referrers, countries, device types

Local Storage

BharatNotes uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences and progress locally on your device. This includes:

  • Syllabus tracker progress
  • Prelims tracker progress
  • Bookmarked topics
  • Vocabulary and key terms progress

This data never leaves your device and is not sent to any server. You can clear it at any time from the Tracker page or by clearing your browser data.

Third-Party Services

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Specifically:

  • Google uses the DART cookie to serve ads based on your visits to BharatNotes and other sites on the internet
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings
  • You may opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting aboutads.info

Google Fonts

We load fonts (DM Serif Display, Plus Jakarta Sans) from Google Fonts. Google may collect your IP address and browser information when fonts are loaded. See Google Fonts Privacy.

Cloudflare

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata for security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Cookies

BharatNotes itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services (Google AdSense, Google Fonts) may set cookies in your browser. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

BharatNotes is an educational resource and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. Your localStorage data is fully under your control — clear it anytime via browser settings or the Tracker page.
