1. Agreement

By accessing or using BharatNotes.com ("the Site", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the Site.

BharatNotes is operated by Bharat Choudhary as a free, open-access educational resource for UPSC Civil Services aspirants. There is no login, registration, subscription, or payment required.

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and BharatNotes regarding your use of the Site and supersede any prior understanding. If any provision of these Terms conflicts with the Disclaimer or Privacy Policy on a specific point, the document more specific to that point governs.

2. Eligibility & Access

The Site is intended for users who can form a legally binding agreement under applicable law. If you are a minor under the age of 18, you may use the Site only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; see our Privacy Policy.

Access to the Site is provided free of charge and on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Site — or the Site as a whole — at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.

3. Educational Purpose Only

All content on BharatNotes — including study notes, answer keys, model answers, previous-year question analyses, current-affairs commentary, and any other material — is provided for educational and informational purposes only.

BharatNotes is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by:

  • The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
  • The Government of India or any State Government
  • Any coaching institute, university, or publisher

Original UPSC question papers and official notifications remain the property of UPSC. We paraphrase, analyse, and explain — we do not reproduce official UPSC materials verbatim.

5. Accuracy, Editorial Process & Verification

BharatNotes content is researched and editorially reviewed against primary sources (legislative.gov.in, PIB, PRS India, RBI, official government portals) and standard UPSC reference texts. Every factual claim — constitutional articles, dates, statistics, scheme details — is checked against authoritative sources before publication, and our editorial process includes a dedicated fact-verification pass on each topic.

Like most modern publishers, we may use research and drafting tools (including software and AI-based assistance) as part of our workflow. All such material is reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication; the editorial responsibility for every page rests with BharatNotes, not with any tool. We publish content for its educational value and accuracy, not for volume.

Despite this rigour, BharatNotes is an independently operated project and content may contain errors, omissions, or information that has become out of date. Laws, schemes, statistics, and official data change frequently. Always cross-check critical exam material against official sources (UPSC notifications, the Constitution of India, government websites, Budget & Economic Survey documents) before relying on it for any decision.

If you spot a factual error, please report it to [email protected] — corrections are made publicly with a note on the affected page.

6. No Professional Advice

BharatNotes provides general educational information about the UPSC Civil Services Examination and related subjects. It does not provide legal, financial, career, psychological, medical, or other professional advice, and nothing on the Site should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or from the official examining authority. Any career, examination, or personal decision you make based on the Site is your own, taken at your own risk.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As Is")

The Site and all of its content, tools, and features are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BharatNotes and Bharat Choudhary expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Without limiting the above, BharatNotes makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee regarding:

  • Your performance, qualification, rank, or result in any UPSC examination, interview, or selection process
  • The completeness, sufficiency, currency, or suitability of our content as a sole or primary preparation source
  • The accuracy of any specific fact, figure, date, or interpretation at any given moment
  • The continuous availability, security, or absence of bugs, viruses, or technical errors on the Site
  • The content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party site, advertisement, or service linked from or displayed on the Site

Your access to and use of the Site, and any reliance on its content, is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and only for its intended educational purpose. You must not:

  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers, or harvesters) to access, copy, or bulk-download content beyond normal personal browsing, except for well-behaved search-engine indexing
  • Scrape, mirror, or systematically extract content to build a competing or derivative service, dataset, or product
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems or networks

  • Introduce malware, or use the Site to transmit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful material
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice
  • Use the Site in any manner that violates applicable Indian law or the rights of any third party

We reserve the right to restrict or block access (for example, by IP address) to any user who breaches this section, without notice.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

BharatNotes links to third-party sites (government portals, news sources, reference texts) and runs third-party services (Google AdSense, Cloudflare, Google Fonts). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site or service. See our Privacy Policy for details on third-party data handling.

10. User-Submitted Communications

We will not publish identifiable personal information from your messages without your explicit consent.

11. Advertising

BharatNotes displays advertisements via Google AdSense to keep the Site free for all aspirants. We do not control which ads are shown — Google selects ads based on its policies and (where applicable) your prior browsing. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. See Privacy Policy for details on AdSense cookies and opt-out options.

12. Intellectual Property & Copyright Complaints

The original written content, structure, design, code, and branding of BharatNotes are © 2026 Bharat Choudhary, except where third-party copyright applies (e.g., quoted statutory text, official government data, cited textbook references — these remain the property of their respective owners and are used under fair dealing / fair use for educational commentary, criticism, and review).

We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. If you believe any content on BharatNotes infringes your copyright or other rights, please email [email protected] with: (a) identification of the work you claim is infringed; (b) the exact URL(s) of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact details; and (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised. We will review and, where appropriate, remove or amend the material promptly.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BharatNotes and Bharat Choudhary shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of opportunity, loss of data, loss of goodwill, examination or career outcomes, or any damages arising from exam-preparation decisions, reliance on factual claims, technical interruptions, or third-party service or advertisement failures — whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because BharatNotes is provided to you free of charge, you acknowledge that, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of BharatNotes and Bharat Choudhary for all claims relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred Indian Rupees (₹100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities; in such cases, the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BharatNotes and Bharat Choudhary from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Site; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party; or (d) any content you submit to us.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, you and BharatNotes agree that the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site.

17. General Provisions

  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, for example in connection with a transfer of the Site, without restriction.
  • Survival. Sections concerning Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law survive any termination of your access to the Site.
  • No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, employment, agency, or joint-venture relationship between you and BharatNotes.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including hosting or network outages, third-party service failures, or acts of God.
