Overview
Medieval Indian history spans roughly from the 8th century to the 18th century CE — from the decline of classical empires to the consolidation of colonial rule. This period witnessed the rise and fall of the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire, the flourishing of the Vijayanagara and Maratha Empires, transformative Bhakti and Sufi movements, and remarkable achievements in art, architecture, and administration.
